large bondd3rd – 9th December, Ljubljana

This year’s festival of animated film Animateka is hosting Hungary! Between 3rd and 9th of December the screens in Kinoteka and Kinodvor will be illuminated by images from a number of animated films. In Kinoteka, you will have a chance to view an extensive retrospective, dedicated to Hungarian original animated films (a special mention goes to the cult feature film by Marcell Jankovics’ The White Mare’s Son [Fehérlófia, 1981] and the rap satire about urban Gypsies The District! by Áron Gauder [Nyócker!, 2004]). At the festival, the Slon club will introduce us to the best animated film for children.
The Student programme will wrap up with a selection of films by the students of the Department of Art and Design of the Moholy-Nagy University in Budapest, also a part of the retrospective of Hungarian animated film. To their honour, an exhibition of drawings from degree films will be set up at Balassi Institute.
You can find the programme on Animateka’s homepage, under the section ‛Madžarska na obisku.’
