8th  May, Wednesday, 7 p.m., Vodnikova Domačija

How does European literature sound in its original language?

This year, we will celebrate the Day of Europe, 9th May, together with the cultural institutes of Ljubljana, and the EUNIC cluster (European Union National Institutions for Culture).

Within the frameworks of the program, the directors of the European cultural institutes and cultural attachés will read a short extract of their literature in original language. The institutes are donating the books to Vodnikova Domačija and the Library under the Treetops project.

The following directors and cultural attachés will take part at the event:

Stefano Cerrato (Italian Cultural Institute),

Andreas Pawlitschek (Austrian Cultural Forum)

Uwe Reissig (Goethe Institute),

Jean-Luc Goester (French Institute) and

Bíborka Molnár-Gábor (Balassi Institute)

Besides reading in original language, the extract of the works will be also translated into English and Slovene. Katja Preša will read them in Slovene. After the reading, you can join us for tastes and music of Europe, too.

You are warmly invited to listen to the sound of Europe and discover all that is connecting us to each other. The donated books will be available for reading until summer, first in the Vodnikova Domačija, then, from end of May in the Tivoli park's Library under the treetops. The evening is organized by the EUNIC cluster Ljubljana and Vodnikova domačija Šiška.
