Challenge: Pressed Flowers

This month’s challenge, “pressed flowers” with microwave technique, is organized in cooperation with the House of Crafts from Dobrovnik. It might sound a bit unusual, but it is a very simple way of preserving the beauty of nature. We invite all floral enthusiasts to participate in this challenge and share the photos of the charming decorations made from pressed flowers with us. Send us your work of art to, This email address is being protected from spambots. 1. For pressing we need: scissors, an old book, elastic bands, a plastic household bag and a microwave oven

2. We can use meadow or garden flowers. Cut the flowers with scissors and store in a household plastic bag

3. Place the flowers in a book and tie the book with the elastic bands.

4. Place the book in the microwave. Set the heat to medium and turn on the micro for 1 minute, then check if the flowers have dried. The process can be repeated several times until the flowers are completely dry.

5. If desired, the flowers can be placed in a frame.
